A Hummingbird in My House

My female Anna's Hummingbird just came to say hello...in my house...at me while I was on my couch. I keep the patio door open a little bit on nicer days. My hummingbird family hasn't ever flown in before. I was so happy to see her but worried and saying, "no, no, be careful!" I've had to rescue trapped hummingbirds in buildings before and it's not fun.

But she just chattered at me and flew side to side for a while and then zoomed back out the door. What a lovely hello from my spirited little friend. I hope she is a sign of new beginnings to come.
